The Art Walk West proposes a guided walk through various art spaces around Limmatstrasse, which are open until 8pm on this special evening. Admission and the tour are free.

Tour about architecture, history and art (new from September 2024)

On this tour of Löwenbräukunst, you can learn about the site’s history, architecture, and exhibition spaces, and gain fascinating insights into the current exhibitions and key figures who have shaped the complex.

Today the former brewery is home to museums, galleries, art and cultural foundations, as well as a bistro. In the 1980s, Zurich's industrial enterprises moved out of District 5, leaving many factories and warehouses vacant. The Löwenbräu brewery, which had been located here since the end of the 19th century, closed its doors in 1986. Exactly ten years later, in 1996, the Kunsthalle Zürich, the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, and several galleries decided to move into the former industrial building. The site evolved into an internationally recognized center for contemporary art, and its galleries remain among the leading players in the international art market.

We look forward to welcoming you to private tours of the Löwenbräukunst art centre. We offer private tours in German and English.
The team of art historians, cultural scientists, art educators and artists will explain the contexts of the exhibitions and the individual artistic positions.

We are happy to put together a customised tour that focuses on specific themes or leads through various exhibitions and institutions. On request, we can also provide an introduction to the history of the museum and the Löwenbräu site.

The barrier-free entrance for strollers is located directly next to the entrance Limmatstrasse 268.

A changing table is available on the 1st basement.

We welcome all school classes of any level.

Our various offers are aimed at all schools (from kindergarten to vocational school and high school) and are adapted to the age level. We are open to groups with special needs.

The Kunsthalle Zürich, the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst as well as the foundation Luma Westbau offers a rich program for schools.
