Open House Zürich x Löwenbräukunst
Architecture for all

Sat 26.09.26
11:00 – 18:00
Meeting Point: Löwenbräukunst Foyer Limmatstrasse 270

The history of the Löwenbräu Areal, a former brewery, is characterised by conversions, additions, and the careful further development of existing building structures. A decisive turning point came in the 1990s, when the site was transformed from a brewery into an art and gallery centre under the direction of Andreas Fuhrimann. Between 2010 and 2014, the entire site, including its listed historic buildings, was extensively expanded and supplemented under the direction of the architectural firms Gigon/Guyer and Atelier WW.

Further measures led by Gigon/Guyer followed in 2019 (accessibility, signage and entrances) and in 2025 (building services and a photovoltaic system), including the conversion of spaces for Museum Haus Konstruktiv, whose interior architecture was designed by Fuhrimann Hächler.

Today, the Löwenbräukunst Zürich art centre is a key venue for contemporary art and culture. Within its historic spaces, renowned institutions, museums and a gallery come together to present a diverse programme.
